I was driving down the street the other day and came upon the Lego Men aka the street workers. I gave them the title of Lego Man when I first them when I got here 2 years ago. They were planting flowers and they were all wearing the same color of work jumpsuit with markings of different colors and it reminded me of a bag of legos that have fallen out of a bag, because they are always in a bunch. The Lego Man can come in different colors, some are green with yellow markings and I think they are strickly work with the flowers, grass and trees. The blue and orange seem to be the workers of the streets.
My question to you is: How many Lego Men does it take to paint a street curb by hand?
Answer: From my count here it takes 28

Construction Picture of the Week on 3-2 Street
Do you think I sit by the window and watch the construction across the street all the time? Some days I do watch a lot and some days I get some good shots like this one. Sam usually can tell when one of the machines are going to break down. He makes comments like well the barrings are going out on this one and tracks need to be readjusted. What he would like to do is go drive the Caterpillar for a while at night. I should inquire about that...hummmmm

The Emporer's New Shoes
Now you may be wondering why I have posted a pair of shoes, these are Mr. Sam's new shoes. Mr. Sam at the office as he is so affectionately known as has purchased a pair of somewhat "out there" shoes for himself. Notice the square toe, he has never had this before, and the length, I think he is trying to blend in here. He is telling me they aren't the most comfortable shoes he has had compared to his Redwings but these will be something new for him to look when he's walking. He did mention nothing beats the good ol'e Tony Lamas.

A.D. WAS ROCKING LAST NIGHT!!!!
Abu Dhabi was rocking last night with Elton Jon. It was a great venue for the concert, on the beach of the Emerites Palace. The only sad thing was I couldn't sneak my I mean Sam's really nice big camera in to take pictures. I got the little snap and shoot one in tucked away in my wallet.(Its very thin.) They did a bag search for cameras and didn't find it!!!!!!
Yea!!!!! The crowd was at capacity of the 13,000. We sat in the bleachers and it was the only seating for the middle price tickets. All other tickets were standing. EJ sang for 2 1/2 hours straight with out a break. He can really put on a concert. The lights and sound were great and the backdrop of the water and the city scape of AD was all lit up. With that description doesn't it make want you to come and visit us yet??????

If you look at the next few pictures you can see the water in the right side of the picture and the stage and big screens they had up.

Sam and I went to the Abu Dhabi Golf Championships yesterday. They have a rule about taking photo's at Golf Tournements ......... you can't take any except on the Pro-Am Day. Well thats always a challenge for me when they say no you can't take any. I was careful, turned off the flash, turned off the clicker that sounds when you take a picture. I did a lot better with the little snap and shoot camera before, but the new camera that I bought for Sam was a little conspicuous. But I managed to get a few in and I have a quiz for all the golf fans out there..... Can you name the two golfers in the bottom two pictures? If you get them right you get to come with me to the Dubai Classic in two weeks!!!!!! Its Tiger Time.....................................
This is the club house at the golf course. Nice Falcon!!!!
Just a little more of the Mosque

The big rug at the Mosque
This is the center of the room and right under the main dome.
There are no two designs the same.
The colors were so bright.
The green is an emerald green.

Now this is a chandalier!
I've heard that 40,000 are supposta fit in here. Lots of vacuuming done here.
A very pretty area around the very large pillars.
This was beautiful. It was all inlayed with lights from below.

More of the Mosque
Do you see the people in the front of the mosque? The place is massive.
This is the smaller chandalier in the front entrance of the mosque.
I would like one with more bling!
This marble was gorgeous.

The Grand Mosque
The oustside of the Grand Mosque in A.D. It is open for the public to go into for now. We don't know how long is will stay open. We were able to go into the inter room where they have to hand woven carpet. The marble is so beautiful and the inlayed flowers are very nice.
This is a walkway to get inside the inner rooms of the Mosque. The gold tops of the pillars and the inlayed marble flowers were beautiful.
A close up to the inlayed flowers.
The ouside floor was huge. On the floor is inlayed marble with inlayed flower designs.

The Girls
Aubrey (purple) and Isabelle(pink)We had so much fun playing each day. They are pretty good at poising for the camera when I would come and play. This is their sister hug. I miss them all ready and wish they were here with me each day so we could play. I get on line with them and have breakfast with them when they get up and they talk to me and sing to me and we read stories to each other.

Construction on 3-2 street
I came from Utah thinking maybe the crew had made signifigant progress on the building site across the street from out flat building. I was greatly disappointed. A few pipes placed and some dirt dug in 5 weeks. We have watched this crew start at the beginning of the contruction process here. Tear down the old building(15 years is old) and build a newer and bigger one in its place is the idea here. They are almost at the 18 month mark here and this is were we are at. This first picture is a general idea of their pushing dirt out of the hole that they want to dig.
The construction workers in their construction clothes. Please note the hard hats and steel toes boots. Osha would have a great time here. I'm glad to see a saftey fence, they have been going up and down into the hole with a small board they walk up and down on.
The construction project boss.
Ok there is something wrong here. The hardhats and boots walking on the outside of the site with water??? Some one needs to call OSHA!I will up date you on the developments as they progress. I'll have to try and catcha picture of the delivery of lunch to the crane operator.
