Cook Family Photo's

After the photography class I was feeling my abilities needed to be used so I took Terri's family to the beach.  We were at the beach at about 5:30, great time of the day, and a great back round.  The kids were being kids and I got a funny one of them. Cairo and Sam in the back and Charlie and Jack in front.  Something I learned when you have kids in the pictures you don't have a lot of time to pose and check lighting so automatic was the setting for the night.
Charlie was the comedian of the bunch.
The Glamor Girls
It was fun to practice taking their pictures. So if anyone wants me to take there's, I'm available and I'm free.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy Cow

I went out with Anna today to check cows and we found this 2 year old mother off by herself.  That is the first sign of "it's time" for her.  Yup, sure enough she was in labor and having contractions.  I clocked them and she was moving along pretty fast.  About every 2 minutes she would have a big pain.  We didn't get to close at first, then when we knew she was down then we got closer so that she didn't get nervous.
After a couple really good moo's and about 5 minutes of pushing out comes the little guy.
Mom got up after about 3 minutes and started her duty of cleaning and licking her new son.  She didn't like us so close so we stepped back and gave her some space.
Growing up I remember watching this experience a lot and it was always fun to watch.  It is a part of life on the farm.  I remember being the mid wife helper with Craig in the pig barn with many of the little oinkers.  We had cats, dogs, cows, pigs, chickens, horses and what ever else that gave birth we had it.  I guess the circle of life starts here today.

Practice day at the Mosque

After my photography class Terri and I went to the Mosque to practice some picture taking with out the camera on auto.  Tell me how did I do?
My feet only smell when I'm home.  In AD they can breathe freely with out socks or anything restricting their life.  I love it.
A new angle I think is kind of nice.
Terri my friend, my driver, my confidaunte, my annalist, my fellow adventurer, my entertainment, my spinning partner what will I do with out her. She is leaving in June to go back to the America.  I'm so sorry I'm not there to help her in the big move.  Gram and the girls new brother has taken over my life in the past months and the months to come and I feel priviledged to be apart of these memories.

The day I left AD ...

On the way to the airport, the smaul (dust storm)was starting.
It makes for a gray day...
My garden was blooming when I left. I'll be sad to not enjoy the pretty colors of the geraniums but the rest just blooms year round.

Some visitors from the States

When I was back in AD in February we had some friends from the states come for a stay and attend a conferance.
The Group from America and Europe.

Deep Holes in Doha

Remember back last August when I introduced you to the Doha projects....... One of the deep holes being dug for the sewer treatment plant we are doing there.  20 meters down and 10-15 maybe another 20 meters to go.
I think this is the thing that digs the hole...water is pumped out into little ponds that evaporate.
Some of the bosses taking a look see at he holes
Oops look like i got two pictures in this one

Little Love for Gram

Loren had a sleep over and was giving Gram some morning kisses.
We are enjoying the morning in bed before we tackle the day!

The Sun is Shining on us Today

Today I hooked Gram up and we went mobile.  Did a little mud bogging and rock climbing.  We have a new worker in the back round  Ricco,  he's working for food.
The boys in the shop stopped their engine annualing to pose for a picture with Gram.  Roy,me, Gram, Pedro and Jonny.
Gram was questioning whether they were really working or not, but seemed to be convinced that they were doing something important.
"Do you boys want to come in for lunch?"

This is Sam's running route

Sam has been after me to go and take some photos  of the swans he sees each morning when he runs.  I couldn't find the swans but found some other birds and a great sunrise.
Its not the prettiest area's but a fun place for lots of walkers and runners to do their thing
It was perfect for time of the day for picture taking.

Oh how my garden grows....

With Mom watching over the planting giving a nod here and there the seeds were sowed and how they were covered , she was excited to participate in the days activity.
