Checking out LuLu Island

LuLu Island is just across the bay from where I live. It just opened up last summer for beach goers. So for all those that know where I live you go to Marina Mall and take a right and go to the flag pole area and there is a little ferry boat that takes you to the island. There isn't much parking so you have to carry your gear to the ferry. You get on a bus and go to what ever spot on the island you want. The bus cost is 15 AED and it will take you to where ever you want and will pick you up where ever you want. There is a mobile number written on paper taped to the window if you want to be picked up. So you should write it down just in case. It is a big island and had lots of date tress planted. The lews are spead out a distance from each other. Hummmmm thinking on that one. The beaches are lovely and the sand is good sand. So packing all the beach gear and cooler and other "stuff" it was a little work to do. We had Jeff to do majority of the toting of heavy things so the ladies just were trying to decide if we would do this again.

My friends Stephanie, her mom Sharon and brother and son Jeff. They are from Utah.

I was surprised at the lifejackets that you have to wear on the boat. Nice going!!!!!! Big points for me.

My friend Lynda from New Zealand.

So would we go again? The vote was yes. We would bring more people, stay longer, more food, bring games, have it just a titch warmer and stay on the side of the island that you can see all the buildings. The other side there isnt anything to look at.
